Antonia, Missouri, formerly known as "Bulltown" Missouri, is a small, mostly residential community located in Jefferson County Missouri, about 30 miles south of the city of St. Louis. Click Here for a map of Antonia Missouri .
Nestled in the foothills of the Ozark mountain range at the intersection of Missouri Hwy M and Old Lemay Ferry Road, the area has been settled since the late 1700's. Until recently the geography of the area limited it's growth with the hill sides being heavily wooded and fairly steep. For the most part, the land was utilized for lumber production and for some cattle farming, mostly along the bottom lands and in the hollows.
In the late 1980's suburban sprawl from St. Louis began to reach Antonia. While still fairly sparsely populated, Antonia has began to grow in population. Suburban development has for the most part by-passed Antonia in favor of areas further south that have been easier to build upon.
