It might take a village to raise a child, but it definitely takes a team to buy or build a home! So, who is on your team and what do they do? Here is a brief run down of you team members with a link to a more detailed explanation of there role.
1) Realtor - He/She is the clean up hitter. It's their job to coordinate all of the complexities of your transaction and see to it that it all goes smoothly.
2) Loan Officer - He/She is your starting pitcher. By throwing strikes and getting the money arranged they'll win the game. The lender touches the ball on every pitch.
3) Loan Processor - He/She is the middle reliever and the person who does the grunt work of getting the loan approved while the Loan Officer takes all of the glory.
4) Loan Closer - He/She is just what they're called, the closer. They tie up the loose ends and put the game to bed.
5) Insurance Agent - They protect your property by getting the insurance policy in effect and the information over to the closer.
6) Home Inspection Company - They make sure that you know what you're getting into as far as the condition of the home is concerned.
7) Appraiser - They make sure that you're not paying too much for that free agent.
8) Home Warranty Company - They make sure that any surprises after you own the home are kept to a minimal and that things get fixed in the event that they break after closing.
9) The Title Company - The title closer is our ace closer. They are responsible for pulling it all together. Anything that has gotten swept under the carpet during the entire transaction is taken care of by the title closer. To me, he or she is the star of the game!
